Well, too much of SEO is not liked much by the search engines. Just relax and build links at a natural pace. A few links from high authority websites in your niche will get you indexed fast by the search engines.

I created my first website and launched it in November, 2007, with descriptions and photos of my family's summer vacation in Alaska. I submitted sitemaps to Google, Yahoo, MSN and registered with other crawlers and put robots.txt on my site and swapped a few links with other appropriate sites. Nothing seems to be happening though this will probably come in time.
My question is, 'how does Google prevent high-ranking sites from swapping links and locking out new sites'?
