Google’s Spam fighting captain, Matt Cutts announced the launch of NoFollow Google Help Center in a video interview today with Mike McDonald of WebProWorld at the SMX Advanced conference in Seattle, Washington, USA.
I wonder why Google has launched the help center for NoFollow. About 99% of the world does not even know what NoFollow links are, and the rest 1% are not going to deliberately ask Google about it. I hope this news will not send another PageRank hoarding panic among the SEOs.

1I think the purpose of help center is to make people aware of nofollow attribute as you rightly pointed that most of them are unaware that such an attribute exists.

5I was quite dissappointed to find out that Matt uses the no follow attribute on his own blog. I would never have thought it! Considering all he chats about is optimisation and how SEO is an art and should be performed ethically.

6I think the only reason he uses no follow is because people use his blog specifically to gain links. Writing “nice article” and “great post” it’s just a shame the rest of us are punished by the spammers.
Great Post…. lol!

Ive heard they do but they dont pass on the page rank…
Ive heard they dont increase your page rank at all and are worthless from an SEO perspective!!

8Honestly speaking nofollow links are useless according to me.But to some extent they bring traffic.
